The confrontation with the absurd nature of self is the subject of the series. In these pieces, I seek to visually explore the different states of mind and discomfort that arise from the struggle of finding our true identity through the character I create.
Alongside the photo series, the short film aims to contextualise the theme of my photographs. It seeks to convey the emotional intensity of encountering oneself. Shot in my home city Berlin, I show everyday environments, such as the U-bahn, city streets and public bathrooms, in an unnerving light. Set entirely after midnight, a time of solitude and self-reflection, the video takes place beyond the reality of our day to day lives.
